EXISTENCE OF ALIEN LIFE: WHAT IS THE PROBABILITY?
Are we alone in this Universe? Or, is there any alien life
existing? With billions of Galaxies containing countless of stars, how is this
possible that we are alone! If there is any intelligent life, where are they?
In an infinite universe, most scientists agree that we are not alone. Somewhere
beyond our reach there must be existing alien life. What is the probability
that Alien Life exist? Thankfully, math can help us with these questions.
In our Milky Way galaxy only, there are an estimated 100,000
million stars and 100 billion planets, out of which many are potentially
habitable. With an estimated two trillion galaxies, how can it be possible that
there is no alien life? The universe has existed for an estimated 13.82 billion
years, but our Earth has been created 4.6 billion years ago. There’s been a huge
time period before the Earth where civilizations could have developed or could
have been wiped out. We can never know that.
Extraterrestrial Life is the life that may originate outside
our planet Earth. Earth is the only planet till date known by the humans that
support life. Well the existence of Extraterrestrial Life is purely
hypothetical as we haven’t got any evidence of alien life in any other planet. There
are countless planets which are habitable forming over the history of universe.
The chance of life emerged on Earth is highly unlikely. But if there is
existence of intelligent life, where are they now? Why we haven’t found them
yet? This is very well explained by the theory called “Fermi Paradox” & “Drake Equation”.Currently,
The Researchers are working to identify
planets which sit in the habitable zone of their solar systems because this is
the place where water could remain in liquid state. And where there is water
chances of life increases.
